Eleanor Roosevelt A Favorite For $10 Bill
Eleanor Roosevelt is the current front-runner in the race to earn a spot on the soon-to-be redesigned bill, according to a McClatchy-Marist poll released Wednesday. Second to her is Harriet Tubman with 17 percent of the vote.
That being said, why not all three? Roosevelt also was the first First Lady to hold her own press conference as a protest to the barring of females to presidential press conferences at the time.
Other finalists in the McClatchy-Marist poll were women’s rights activist Susan B Anthony and pilot Amelia Earhart, who each received 11% of the vote.

Alexander Hamilton now appears on that currency, and will remain on it in some capacity when the new bill goes into circulation in 2020. The idea of putting a female historical figure on U.S. currency gained major traction from Women on 20s, an online campaign that asked people to vote for which woman should replace Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill.
Of the countless courageous women who’ve helped shape the United States of America, influencing its past, present, and future, how do we choose just one? “Our paper bills-and the images of great American leaders and symbols they depict-have long been a way for us to honor our past and express our values”, Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew said in a statement.
Among women, Roosevelt won by a bigger margin, with 33 percent of those surveyed in her camp.
