Elections: Texas Democrats On Record Pace In Primary Voting
Three of the seven seats on the board are up for election this year.

In Catawba County, in the race for the Board of Commissioners, four Republican candidates have filed and three Democrats have filed. But we believe Trump is the key variable that caused increased Democratic primary turnout in 2018 versus 2014 when he was not a factor.
Kling is now a member on the Burke County Board of Elections but he will have to resign his post since he filed to run for election, said Debbie Mace, director of elections for Burke County.
“If Democratic candidates can run solid, well-funded campaigns”, he said, “they would be in better position to take advantage of an enthusiastic base”.
Voters will also decide on three district seats on the Board of Education this year.
In Bell County, 1,186 Democrats participated in the 10 days of early voting in 2014. He will face Democrat Heather Sinclair of Galena in the general election.
Primary elections are May 8 for Congress and the General Assembly, as well as for county posts and district attorneys. Griner also filed on Wednesday for the District 86 seat. He will run unopposed. The email urged Republicans to vote in the primary and donate to Abbott’s re-election campaign.
Jim Turner, a blue dog Democrat from Crockett, decided against running for re-election in 2004 after a GOP-led remap moved his home turf into the district held by Rep. Joe Barton, R-Ennis. (Democrat), Shallotte resident Anthony H. Mascolo (Libertarian), and Kelly resident Randolph W. Five Republicans filed for U.S. House District Ten and one Democrat entered the race.
At the federal level, Bladen County voters will have some choices in the primary. Acceptable photo identification forms are a Texas Driver License issued by the Department of Public Safety, Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by the DPS, Texas Personal Identification Card issued by the DPS, Texas Handgun License issued by the DPS, United States Military Identification Card containing the voter’s photograph, U.S. Citizenship Certificate with photo, or U.S. Passport. Because those who complain about lawmakers and government should hold their tongue if they didn’t take the time to vote when they had the chance.

Down the road in District 2 – In one of the more crowded races – 14 candidates filed for the March 6 primaries. The investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election rounds out the list, with just about a quarter (26%) calling that extremely important to their vote. Early voting also will be conducted from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.at Lucas Community Center.
