Ellie Goulding Announces New Album Details, Plus Revealing Artwork
Ellie Goulding considers her new album “Delirium” to be an “experiment”.
Her first single from the album “On My Mind” has also been released today after it was teased earlier this week and is available to download through the usual outlets.
Serving as the lead single off the 28-year-old’s upcoming Delirium album, the up-tempo track it so good we can’t think of anything else to do than to play it on repeat! “I made a conscious decision that I wanted it to be on another level”, Ellie said in a statement.
The eagerly-awaited new album has been written and recorded in the UK, Sweden and the US, and is said to reflect its globe-spanning creation process.
Ellie’s new track dropped this morning and fans were quick to put two and two together and suggest that the lyrics are actually related to her ex, Ed. “It can be describing a really happy, crazy state, or it can be the complete opposite”. It’s the follow-up to her 2012 album Halcyon, and has seen Goulding team up with a number of collaborators to bring it to life, including songwriters and producers such as Max Martin, Greg Kurstin, Onerepublic’s Ryan Tedder and Disclosure’s Guy Lawrence.
If you are reading into it, which I am confident many will, you then could possibly believe she is talking in regards to a particular tat-loving red head Ed Sheeran.
