Elton John and David Furnish Are A Married Couple Now
It is the festive season and the season of love. Hollywood is noticing lots of marriages in these lovely days. Another couple finally tied their knot and seals their love with marriage vows. Elton John and David Furnish are finally married now!
On December 21, Sunday, the couple exchanged their vows in England at the Windsor home of Elton John. The couple has been in a civil partnership since 2005 after same-sex marriage was legalized in England. Back in March this year John opened up about his plan to marry his love David. In a show of ‘Today’ the 67 years old John said, “We’ll do it very quietly. But we will do it and it will be a joyous occasion and we will have our children.”
However, the couple celebrated their marriage in a great way and lovely way. John created an account on instagram on 19th December and invite his fans virtually to their marriage. Following the invitation, John started posting photos that lead up to their marriage ceremony.
He captioned one of his photos that showed the Brit signing sincerely his marriage license. “That’s the legal bit done. Now onto the ceremony! #ShareTheLove @DavidFurnish.”
John continued with sharing several pictures that show the couple in their ceremony. And the singer continued, “I’m very proud of Britain and the laws that we’ve seen come into existence since we’ve been together.” He also wrote “Having our civil partnership was an incredible breakthrough for people that have campaigned for a long time — through the ’60s and the ’50s in England when it was so hard to be gay and hard to be open about it. And it was a criminal act. So for this legislation to come through is joyous, and we should celebrate it. We shouldn’t just say, ‘Oh, well we have a civil partnership. We’re not going to bother to get married.’ We will get married.”
