Elton John announces retirement, farewell world tour
“We had children and I changed out lives”, John, 70, said at a press conference in NY.

Elton John is coming to Buffalo as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
He continued: ‘There will come a time when I will want to stop touring. The singer underwent emergency surgery for the problem and “could easily have died” without being treated immediately. Elton John: I’m Still Standing will have an all-star group of performers including Keith Urban, Kesha, Little Big Town, Miley Cyrus, and Sam Smith paying homage to the music icon.

“I’ve been touring since I was 17 with various bands. I’m really looking forward to this tour and I’m really looking forward to the 300th date”, he said. “But I’m not going to travel anymore”. John will go out in style, singing anthems like ” Tiny Dancer“, ” Candle in the Wind“, ” Philadelphia Freedom“, and songs from the Lion King soundtrack – performing a setlist spanning his entire career while rocking a wardrobe exclusively designed by Gucci. “At one point it was touch and go as to if I’d even be here”. In the press today, in England, of course, they said I’m retiring because of ill health. The tour includes two dates in Chicago, Oct. 26-27, at the United Center.
