Elton John Joins Adele By Distancing Himself From Donald Trump
Recently, Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” was also played as a backdrop during his campaign in Waterloo, Iowa.
“Adele has not given permission for her music to be used for any political campaigning”, a spokesman for Adele toldThe Independent.
He has consistently played Adele’s smash hit Rolling In The Deep, with its “we could have had it all” refrain, in what we assume is an effort to stoke up the atmosphere at campaign events before his appearance. To their relief, Adele finally made a statement to distance herself from Trump and his campaign and to let the public know that Trump can not actually use her music. It looks like everyone wants to use Adele’s fame.
However, a publicist for the singer/songwriter confirmed to WENN that Sir Elton, who entered into a same-sex marriage with husband David Furnish in 2014, is not endorsing Trump’s political run, saying, “Elton’s music has not been requested for use in any official capacity by Donald Trump”.
Besides Trump, other presidential candidates such as Mike Huckabee and Chris Christie have used “Hello” for their political objective. Azealia Banks, the NY rapper who like Trump is fond of heated exchanges on Twitter, offered a backhanded compliment as she said she planned to vote for Trump. Such case is Neil Young’s Rockin’ in the Free World, which Trump used while announcing his candidacy. He sent trump not just one, but two, cease-and-desist letters, as Trump and his campaign had continued to use Tyler’s songs after the first letter had not done the trick. Tyler refused to be associated with Trump’s campaign.
Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has also ordered Trump to stop using his songs (he’s a fan of the tune Dream On, apparently). Post your comments below.
