Elton John to play final day of US Grand Prix in Austin
Circuit of The Americas has announced that Elton John & His Band will be performing following the Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix in October. Accompanied by his band, Elton John will perform the most iconic hits from his incredible five-decade career in a two-hour set on the new festival lawn on the infield of the Austin circuit.
The special concert will be on October 25. The announcement was made via press release from the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas. An exhibit featuring work from Andy Warhol and other pop artists will be featured at the Circuit of The Americas. In addition to the worldwide race series coming to town that weekend, Austin will also host music (of course) at Fan Fest downtown and an art show, POP AUSTIN.
Managing Director of Circuit of the Americas, Sharilyn Mayhugh said, “Having POP AUSTIN worldwide Art Show’s presence is a distinct honor!” Also new this year will be shows at clubs designated “Fan Fest Venues”, including the Mohawk, Continental Club, C-Boys Heart & Soul, and the Belmont. Stay tuned for more information as additional Fan Fest venues, outdoor stage locations and music schedules roll out over the next couple of months as we round the corner to the ultimate sports and entertainment weekend.
Elton’s band includes his original drummer, Nigel Olsson along with Davey Johnstone, Matt Bissonette, John Mahon and Kim Bullard.
