Emmys: Uzo Aduba wins second award for insane Eyes
Interestingly, her first win was for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy, so she now has the distinction of having two different awards for the same role.
“I really just want to say thank you a thousand times. I love you so much”, Aduba began.
Oh, and didn’t she look fantastic ? “It felt extra special to give her that thanks that she so deserves and that I feel daily for her tonight, with her, live”.
An ecstatic Aduba went on to thank pretty much everyone who helped bring insane Eyes to life, including “OITNB” creator Jenji Kohan.
Uzo Aduba is the new Ed Asner!
This is the second consecutive Emmy win for the star who took home an Emmy past year for Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for the same role.
“I thought this through”, Aduba told EW. I thought the audition had gone really well.
Fortunately, 7-time victor Allison Janney said she had already solved both problems. You’re not going to get that job, and you’re not going to get it because you were 20 minutes late. You all are incredible. Thank you to our family at Netflix and Lionsgate. “And I sat on the train in tears”.
The Mom actress said she has redone her attractive kitchen and has the flawless spot for it along with the other guys. I was especially proud and applauded the awesome show of sisterhood.
But one little twist: She won the trophy for the same role, in a different category.
Aduba was up against Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey), Lena Headey (Game of Thrones), Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Christine Baranski (The Good Wife) and Christina Hendricks (Mad Men) for the award.
