Emotional tributes mark 15th anniversary of 9/11 horror
The memorial ceremony honors the 15th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks.
The plane hijackings by Al-Qaeda demolished the sense of safety in U.S. citizens and embarked the nation on a new, seemingly a never-ending war against the terrorism. “And try not to act anxious in front of the kids, but a plane crashed into the Pentagon in D.C”. Almost 3,000 men, women and children were killed in the deadliest terrorist attack on United States soil.
On the morning of September 11, 2001, American Airlines 77 was supposed to fly from Washington’s Dulles International Airport to Los Angeles. Far too many families around the globe have experienced pain and loss as a result of terrorism.
The U.S while noting that a lot of families around the globe have experienced pain and loss as a result of terrorism, appealed to the conscience of people to work tirelessly to promote dialogue, peace, and reconciliation in order to resolve the complex problems now faced by the world.
But for millions across the world, the memories of that day are still fresh in their minds.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of history’s most horrifying attack against the United States, when terrorists crashed hijacked planes into the World Trade Center in New York City. Remember those who died on this day.
On Sep. 11, 2001, 19 men hijacked four fuel-loaded USA commercial airplanes bound for West Coast destinations.
Four of those mark the exact times four hijacked planes were crashed into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon near Washington D.C., and a Pennsylvania field.
A United Airlines Boeing 757 traveling from Newark to San Francisco with 44 people on board – including four hijackers – crashes into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, after passengers and crew apparently fought with the hijackers.
A third will come at 9:37a.m., the time when American Airlines Flight 77 struck the Pentagon.
