Empire Sneak Peeks: Putting Aside Your Differences
Now that
Literature tidbit: In William Shakespeare’s play, ‘Hamlet, ‘ Yorick is the character whose skull was exhumed by the gravedigger. Jamal is getting ready to be on the cover of Rolling Stone and Hakeem, without the guidance of his mother, throws a tantrum and stabs a painting before walking off the set. Win-win for Lyon Dynasty! She shows Cookie video of the raid.
Tonight on FOX Empire airs with an all new Wednesday October 14, season 2 episode 4 called, “Poor Yorick,” and we have your weekly recap below. Does he want Hakeem to get jealous and act out?
She eventually arrests Cookie on a bogus outstanding warrant and threatens to come after her sons if she doesn’t snitch on her ex-husband.
Show Summary: Starring Academy Award nominee Terrence Howard and Academy Award and Emmy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson, and featuring music by prolific producers Timbaland, Jim Beanz and Ne-Yo, EMPIRE is from Academy Award nominee Lee Daniels (“Lee Daniels’ The Butler”, “Precious”), Emmy Award victor Danny Strong (“Game Change”, “Lee Daniels’ The Butler”) and Academy Award- and Emmy Award-winning producer Brian Grazer (“A handsome Mind”, “24”). Ms. Ford walks in on him before he has a chance to put on any clothes. The CEO is ultimately proud at the fact that his company was raided.
As the singer performs “Blue Bayou”, Lucious, Thirsty, Andre and Rhonda dig up Vernon. Hakeem, again, asks Lucious if he killed Bunkie. “I promise you with every ounce of my soul”, he replied, “I could never lay a finger on that man”.
But what about bullets, Lucious? But she uncovers one spread sheet she didn’t expect when Lucious greets her butt-booty nekkid in his bedroom, sneering, “Hi there, baby”. After a few thought about how he’ll benefit, Lucious agrees.
The eccentric Rolling Stone photographer – that eerily reminds us of Tom Green – is awkwardly making passes at Jamal, which makes Michael feel uncomfortable. He doesn’t understand why Lucious is keeping him at arm’s length. He tells Andre that while he may not have been the best father, he wants to be the best grandfather. As hinted by the summary, Lucious is now even more bent to make Vernon “disappear permanently”.
From the very beginning “Empire” has pushed boundaries in terms of language and subject matter – now it is going for it with content and graphic material. Mimi reveals that she is a cancer survivor, and her remission diagnosis gave her a renewed zest for life. Rhonda is adamantly against the idea, sure that she will end up in prison.
He also told her God has been speaking to him.
The video shoot, a post-apocalyptic tale involving the Black Panthers and a stance against police brutality, goes off without a hitch – initially.
Hakeem listens to the beat Lucious made for him, and Lucious says it’s his if he comes back to Empire. Hakeem picks up a prop knife from the set and slashes the painting.
Thirsty Rawlings meets with the Lyon family after the Federal Bureau of Investigation raid. Rhonda, powered by love or self-preservation or both, goes along with – and five feet down into the ground, she realizes that while they went in knowing Vernon was buried in front of the tree with the hole – whoops! – all the trees have holes… dun dun dunnnnn…
Down the road, a pair of headlights can be seen heading in their direction. Two people get out of the vehicle and direct the couple to come out with their hands raised. Lucious had Thirsty track Andre ever since they had that unusual conversation, and Lucious was indeed correct on his son having something to do with Vernon.
Leave it to Thirsty to come equipped with an electronic gadget he refers to as a ‘corpse detector’. But who needs a real studio audience when these scenes get such amusing, emoji-filled reactions on Twitter. Just before the sun rises, a auto pulls up next to them. Before closing the trunk, Andre and Lucious, individually pay their last respects – although one was a lot more respectful than the other.
Roxanne threatens Cookie by saying she can send her back to jail if she finds something. That will teach her to mess with Lucious Lyon, right?
A crestfallen Anika fights back tears. Lucious later burns a picture of him with Bunkie and Vernon after they betrayed him.
Roxanne Ford is on the phone while walking towards her driveway.
In the final moments of the episode, they have planted Vernon’s dead body in the auto of the prosector.
The hit show from a year ago, Empire, returns tonight with another highly anticipated episode.
