Entire Catalog From Some Band Named The Beatles Finally Available for Streaming
“The Beatles” music is to be made available on a range of streaming music services ahead of Christmas. Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play and Amazon Prime Music are among the many set to stream their songs, the technology website said.
Beatles fans are getting a special holiday gift: the Fab Four’s music streamed here, there and everywhere as of Christmas Eve.
Rumors from last week regarding the availability of legendary boy-band’s music, The Beatles, on streaming services have finally been confirmed.
The streaming of The Beatles’ albums and collections will be readily available to Google Play Music subscribers on any device into which their Google account has been signed.
A statement from the Beatles publishers said: “Happy Crimble, with love from us to you”. The Beatles catalogue consists of 13 studio albums, each of which as been remastered, and four compilation albums. The Beatles’ discography didn’t grace iTunes until 2010, which is over five years after the digital music store rolled out in public.
Imagine little Johnny or Debbie, raised on a diet of “here today, gone later today” computer-generated, fully automated pop music hearing “Revolver”, “Rubber Soul” or “The White Album” blasting through their earbuds.
Despite the rapid rise of streaming services in recent years, a number of artists opt not to stream their work.
Taylor Swift removed her whole back catalogue from Spotify past year but did agree to stream on Apple Music when it launched in June, while Adele’s new album 25 is not available on streaming.
Streaming may have loved you yeah, yeah, yeah, but the Beatles catalog sure never did love it.
But The Beatles Spotify page – right now, without its catalog, mostly useless – has already accumulated 1.1 million followers.
