EPL transfer: Manchester United boss ‘sanctions’ De Gea sale
Angel Di Maria’s days at Manchester United are coming to an end after a fee in the region of £44.5m was agreed with Paris St Germain.
United paid £59.7m for Di Maria in August last year but the man of the match in the 2014 Champions League final endured a hard season at Old Trafford.
Unfortunately for Manchester United fans, an Angel Di Maria move to Paris Saint-Germain looks more likely than every, as tension grown between Van Gaal and the former real Madrid winger.
The midfielder’s form dipped alarmingly after a strong start and he had to move out of his Cheshire home after an attempted burglary in February. A reported £170,000-a-week post-tax salary on offer in France hardly diminished the switch’s attraction.
United failed to maintain their 100 percent record with a defeat to PSG last week, after registering wins over Club America, San Jose Earthquakes and European champions Barcelona in their three previous tour games.
Van Gaal admitted that the 28-year-old is a ideal fit for United.
“For me, that’s probably one of the big things because I’ve had little injuries here and there”.
New Manchester United star, Memphis Depay might have potentially dropped a huge hint as to who the “surprise” signing is, of whom manager Louis Van Gaal had talked about last week. He’ll have $70 million more to spend, with United kicking off their 2015-16 Premier League season next Saturday against Tottenham Hotspur.
Since then, the 27-year-old and his family have been living in a city-centre apartment in Manchester owned by former United defender Phil Neville.
Both Luiz and Di Maria were teammates at Benfica before going their separate ways.
With Di Maria’s transfer all but sorted, Ed Woodward is set to turn his attentions to signing Pedro, with the club official set to meet with relevant Barcelona personnel in a bid to acquire the winger. “I don’t want to answer that but you can keep asking”, said the Dutchman.
