Ernie Boch welcomes protesters at Donald Trump fundraiser
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said “CNN is terrible” after one of its reporters asked him about protesters outside his press conference in Norwood, massachusetts on Friday. The event is expected to draw hundreds.
When Donald Trump arrived Friday at the home of a local vehicle dealership magnate here for an event that he insisted wasn’t a fundraiser, he wasn’t greeted by just his supporters. “So it’ll be a.it’ll be a fun event”, said Boch on WPRO Radio. “I probably have more than nearly anybody working for me”, said Trump, who isn’t one for political correctness, and for some, that’s a breath of fresh air.
Trump touched on many issues-from the economy, to Governor Charlie Baker’s criticisms on his remarks on women.
“If that happens… very little business would be done in Massachusetts”, he said. “I see thousands of people and there are a few protesters”, Trump said.
Immigration activists demonstrated in front of the State House Wednesday in opposition to Trump’s disparaging comments about Mexicans and illegal immigrants, which Boston police say inspired the beating of a homeless Mexican man by two South Boston brothers earlier this month. “Thank you”, read the sign, which was later taken down after Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, saw a CNN report.
“I don’t know, I’m not really that politically motivated”, Boch said, adding that, unlike Trump, he is pro-choice. “I don’t think it’s going to be any rock stars or anything like that”.
The fundraiser starts at 7 p.m.
