Escaped inmate suspected in killing captured after chase
Pennsylvania State Police said on Friday that Robert Crissman was caught a little more than 24 hours after he walked away from the Armstrong County Jail, where he was serving time for a probation violation.
“He said that drugs were taking over his life and that he wasn’t able to do the job because of it”, said Crytzer, who told police who are searching for Crissman that they should check a storage building near his business, which is located near the jail and about a quarter mile from the homicide scene.
Robert Crissman escaped from Armstrong County Jail, about 45 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, early on Thursday, Pennsylvania State Police said in a statement.
Her body was discovered by her boyfriend in the bathroom of her home about 2:25 p.m. The suspected cause of Long’s death has not been released, Myers said.
Investigators believe Crissman fled to the nearby home of two friends, Tammy Elizabeth Long and Jerry Slagle, and killed Long after Slagle left the residence at 7:30 for work. The woman recognized Crissman from the news and refused to let him in.
A Pennsylvania heroin addict escaped from jail, killed a woman and took off in a stolen truck, authorities said.

He was last seen driving a maroon 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.
Friday morning, Crissman was still on the run. “A good worker”, said Crissman’s former boss, Barry Cryzer. There were no violent crimes on his record and he was trusted by staff, officials said. “This all seems really out of character from the guy I knew”.
