ESPN Sets Game Time For UK-Duke
ESPN has announced its lineup for the Tip-Off Marathon that kicks off the college basketball season, and it features two intriguing Atlantic 11 local men’s matchups. It’ll be a highly anticipated event in the Washington D.C. area and should be one nationally too, with the teams’ proximity and success mixing with the sheer curiosity of the matchup.
The game against Virginia marks one of at least eight games that GW will play against teams from the ACC, Big 10, SEC, Big East and American Athletic Conference next season, including other home games against Seton Hall, Penn State and Rutgers.
Memphis will host Oklahoma, a 2015-16 preseason top-10 team, in a 4 p.m. (CT)/5 p.m. (ET) contest November 17 on ESPN at FedExForum.
The only change is that this game will take place in the McLeod Center, at 7 a.m. on November. 17 – airing on ESPN2.
The marathon begins at 5:30 p.m November 16 with a women’s basketball game between defending national champion Connecticut and Ohio State. Colorado advanced to the quarterfinals of the College Basketball Invitational. Jahlil Okafor is now a Philadelphia 76er, but the Blue Devils are still ranked sixth in the Associated Press poll.
This marks the second consecutive year the Tigers and Buffaloes have been a part of ESPN’s College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon as the game was played in Boulder last season.
Northern Iowa earned a 79-77 overtime win last season in Nacogdoches, Texas, snapping Stephen F. Austin’s 34-game home-court winning streak.
