ESPN to Cover Manning Allegations in MNF Pre-game
Liam Collins, a British hurdler, went undercover and spoke with Charlie Sly, an Austin, Texas-based pharmacist who worked at the Guyer Institute, the Indiana-based anti-aging clinic in 2011.
Davies said she also wanted to know what medical condition may have required Ashley Manning to be prescribed HGH drugs.
The five-time NFL MVP is considering legal action against Al-Jazeera English for airing a documentary which asserts he took Human Growth Hormone. According to Muscle and Fitness, our HGH levels peak during puberty and decline starting in our early 20s, but taking the hormone in supplement form can help quickly build muscle, get rid of fat, and increase libido.
Manning, the Denver Bronco quarterback, received illegal performance-enhancing drugs in 2011.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer, who Manning hired in the wake of the documentary, attacked the report and the reporter: “Al Jazeera is backtracking and retreating”.
And even if they could prove use, there is a loophole that could have made it OK for Manning to use the banned substance for a short period of time.
“Let’s be clear what the allegation is and what it’s not”, Davies said.
Despite the dubious nature of the claims made in the documentary, Al-Jazeera English aired the documentary Saturday evening and released on YouTube where as of 6:30 MST Sunday Night. But because of those who have come before with indignant denials, then been found guilty – plus the others we all know are guilty but haven’t been convicted – I read the stories on Manning. “And he said, ‘Well, when I was working there for those three months, somebody said that they used to be patients there'”.
The Al Jazeera reporter making the claims against Peyton Manning’s wife.
“Charlie Sly’s claims would involve many other top players, but his most astonishing allegation concerns an icon of American sport”, Davies said at another point in the documentary, as Manning’s number 18 jersey appeared on the screen.
“The statements on any recordings are absolutely false and incorrect”. He added that he went to the clinic in cooperation with Colts medical staff, which had recommended he receive treatment there for his neck condition.
Sly has recanted what he said while being filmed undercover in “The Dark Side”.
“It’s a joke. It’s a freaking joke”, was about the mildest thing Manning said in vehemently denying the story.
ESPN’s pre-game coverage of the story will include sound from the Sunday interview and footage from Manning workouts with the team this week.
