Evelyn Lozada Opens Up About Heartbreaking Miscarriage on New Show
Evelyn Lozada was looking forward to becoming a third-time mother, after announcing that she was pregnant earlier this month.
As Hollywood Life shares, Evelyn Lozada revealed her miscarriage over the weekend via her show, a loss that she had been worrying might happen. When she went back to the doctor for a follow-up, things changed.
The pregnancy was revealed in the first episode of Livin’ Lozada, and Evelyn’s miscarriage was front-and-center during the second episode. She opened up about the traumatic experience on the latest episode of her new reality show, Livin’ Lozada.
MStars News previously reported that Lozada confided with her daughter about the news that would later be bad.
Lozada went on to share on the show that “when something tragic like this happens, I’ve always learned that there is something better to come and I guess that’s what I hold onto” and she added that she believes this baby “just wasn’t meant to be”. Lozada learned the heartbreaking truth on the same day she was scheduled to attend a photo shoot with her 21-year-old daughter, Shaniece; instead, Lozada stayed home to cope with the news. “You could just tell, it didn’t look normal”. “I’m like, “OK, it’s happening” and I’ve accepted it. I feel like I can deal. It was so hard not knowing when I’d lose the baby”.
But now, with the comfort and support of family and friends, Lozada reflects she’s been able to find peace with all that’s happened. You just feel responsible.
Lozada questioned everything from her age to her eating habits, but she now knows that the loss wasn’t her fault. “One out of all four to five pregnancies end in miscarriage”, she explains. “I have three girlfriends and it’s literally happened to each and every one of them”.
The reality star, an outspoken advocate for domestic violence victims following a 2012 dispute with ex-husband Chad Johnson, says she hopes opening up about her struggles once again will help others. But I say God doesn’t make mistakes. While her and her partner, Carl Crawford aren’t actively trying, she would welcome another child. “If it happens again, that will probably be my last”.
“Livin Lozada ” airs Saturday nights at 9 p.m. only on OWN.
