Evenflo recalls over 56000 child seats for harness problem
To determine if your child’s seat is included in this recall and to order a remedy kit, please provide your seat’s model number and date of manufacture here.
The company says a curious child could loosen the internal harness which would be a threat to their safety.
A government report said internal Takata documents show the company was aware of the exploding airbag issue and manipulated tests to hide it.
“Evenflo identified this safety concern through our regular review of customer feedback”, said Evenflo Safety Advocate Sarah Haverstick. The central front adjuster used to loosen the seats may be within reach of the child, which means they could be able to loosen the internal harness themselves.
Approximately 56,000 seats with model numbers 34411686, 34411695 and 34411029, manufactured before January 29, 2016 are impacted.
Evenflo is notifying owners and will send a kit with a new seat pad and front adjuster assembly.
Evenflo is asking customers not to return to the booster seats to retailers.
