Everton have no reason to fear Liverpool, says Koeman
It’s fair to say the Champions League victor is on his own when it comes to his views on his compatriot’s screaming and shouting. But I can not imagine one reason why we shouldn’t be confident too.
The above graphic from Kick Off shows that Liverpool are coming into this weekend with some confidence after their struggles at the beginning of 2017.
Following an unsteady start to the season, Tottenham clicked into gear in mid-December and have only dropped points against Manchester City, Liverpool and Sunderland in their last 13 games. United haven’t lost a league game since October 23 but they’ve drawn far too many, especially at Old Trafford where seven teams have left with a share of the points.
Prior to the worldwide break, they recorded a 1-1 draw against Champions League rivals Manchester City after beating Burnley and Arsenal on home soil.
In fairness to them, not all Liverpool fans are taking things for granted. The Senegal global was instrumental in Southampton’s excellent 2015/16 season, but it’s fair to say that under Jurgen Klopp, Mane has been a revelation.
However the advice is to get with Guardiola’s men here, who are set to heap more misery on Wenger and strike a dagger through the heart of Arsenal’s ambitions to finish in the top four. So with the Premier League’s top-scorer (Romelu Lukaku) visiting Anfield, Klopp may have to shift James Milner back in midfield in a bid to protect his defence.
The visitors, six points back in seventh, have won four of their last six with just one defeat during that period.
Sturridge over the past two years has been a great option for Liverpool in the attack.
“I never really liked managers who shouted a lot or who were on the go all the time on the touchline”.
“He’s better now but still not available for the weekend”, he told Everton TV.
“I heard a little bit in the last two seasons, maybe Everton have been a bit afraid to play against Liverpool”, he said. They have managed just three goals in their last nine league outings and only 20 all season.

On top of that, Ramiro Funes Mori is missing for the Toffees in Saturday’s Merseyside derby after suffering a torn meniscus on Argentina duty. He hasn’t been on the winning side in this fixture since joining Everton and that is a record that he will want to correct. Their run in-features only two meetings with other members of the top six and both are at home: against north London rivals Arsenal and Manchester United, in what stands to be the last game played at White Hart Lane.
“I didn’t need a second to realise how important this fixture is”.
The Reds boss confirmed a huge blow with the news that Jordan Henderson has suffered a minor setback in his recovery from a foot injury that’s kept him on the sidelines since late February.
