Everyone loved Jack Whitehall for mocking Prince Harry and One Direction at
Some of our South Shields stars were given a Royal seal of approval on TV last night.
The host of the Royal Variety, Jack Whitehall, made some hilarious digs at Prince Harry, swiftly followed by One Direction, and the internet can’t cope.
The Bad Education star appeared to have offended the ginger-haired bachelor with his bawdy banter, as the Prince seemingly snubbed the comic after the show.
X Factor-winning girl band Little Mix and comedian Chris Ramsey performed for Prince Harry at this year’s Royal Variety Performance.
Prince Harry, 31, had, in fact, taken Jack’s jokes in jest, and chose to wind the amusing man up.
He said: “I think you’re the first person to get a Victoria Cross for bravery just for stepping out of the shade in Afghanistan…”
Another commented: “If I use tinder outside of Buckingham Palace what’s the chances I’ll get a match with Prince Harry?”
The prince chuckled along with the jokes, which also included ribbing about his fondness for partying and the lack of a serious girlfriend, but clearly he had a game plan when it came to the post-show line-up. The comedian was happy to enjoy the moment, laughing as he watched Harry turn his back before the pair enjoyed a warm handshake.
Harry did the traditional walk-along-a-queue-of-celebrities-shaking-their-hands segment that royals do, warmly greeting Sir Elton John before palming Whitehall off.
