Ex-teacher admits possessing indecent child images
He has been jailed for three years and nine months.
Thomson-Glover admitted 27 charges of taking an indecent image of a child; seven charges of making an indecent image of a child and two charges of possessing indecent images of children.
Jonathan Thomson-Glover, 53, appeared at Taunton Crown Court charged with 36 counts of making, taking and possessing indecent images of children.
None of the charges related to offences involving physical contact with children.
“I would like to add our thanks to the victims for their support and that of their parents during the course of this investigation”.
Sentencing him to jail the judge described him as a “manipulative, devious sex offender”.
A large number of VHS tapes, Hi8 discs, laptops and hard drives were seized and examination of these materials uncovered a large amount of images and footage taken using covert cameras that had been placed within Clifton College and the property in Wadebridge.
“I hope the conclusion of this case will bring them the chance to move on positively with their lives”.
He had also used a camera hidden in a bag with a hole cut in it, which he would carry around the school shower room.
The footage included images of girls, boys and adults showering, changing, using the toilet and “conducting private acts”, according to Detective Inspector Andrea Kingdon.
“During police interviews, Thomson-Glover described his activities as “compulsive””.
Thomson-Glover’s lawyer told the court his client has “a deep and considered remorse for his actions”, that he wanted to apologise publicly for “a litany of wrongs” but that he doesn’t expect forgiveness from his victims.
“He had repressed feelings of homosexuality as a teenager”. “On one hand he was successful”.
