Experience Inc. confirms two new Xbox One JRPGs
Experience Inc. reported that it’s getting ready to launch two JRPGs exclusively on Xbox One. The current-gen version of Stranger of Sword City is expected to release sometime between January and March 2016. It was originally seen on the Xbox 360, the PC and of course the PS Vita. During a uStream live event, CEO Hajime Chikami stated that both upcoming J-RPG titles would be released digitally worldwide and come with complete English translations. Fans can expect “Strangers of Sword City” in 2016 and “Students of Round 2” in 2017. Players will be able to switch between the old and new presentation. It’s going to be a new tactical RPG which takes inspiration from Shining Force and Fire Emblem.
“For us, success isn’t just about console sales in the first month, it’s about building strong relationships with developers and publishers, and helping creators build titles that reach the hearts of gamers”. Despite being a remake, it’s going to be exclusively remade for the Xbox One, and is of a genre that typically is reserved for Sony’s consoles.
Maybe by then the Xbox One will have enough of a Japanese base to make these games viable? The Xbox One will also be one of the homes for “Final Fantasy XV”, which is considered by many as one of the most anticipated games today.
