Ezekiel Elliott will play Sunday, but 6-game suspension upheld
Elliott and NFL Players Association representatives showed up for the first scheduled hearing concerning the lawsuit Tuesday evening in Sherman, with no decision from Henderson.
However, Elliott will still have the opportunity to play in the season opener against the New York Giants, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. If the judge sides with Elliot and grants the injunction, Elliott could possibly play the entire season.
Zeke’s legal team says, “We are extremely disappointed with Mr. Henderson’s inability to navigate through league politics, and follow the evidence and, most importantly, his conscience”.
Arbitrator Harold Henderson’s decision comes after last week’s three-day appeal hearing that included sworn testimony from Elliott regarding domestic violence accusations made against him past year. The hearing was wrapping up when Henderson’s ruling came down.

But his greatest argument is that both the NFL and the arbitrator have not required Elliott’s accuser, nor NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, to testify. Henderson has upheld the commissioner’s six-game suspension of the league’s leading rusher.
Lots of fans and members of the media have criticized the NFL for how it’s handled recent domestic violence incidents involving players, saying the league was too lenient. The claims by his defense team that the process was inherently unfair would still ring, but would they still embrace this nuclear option over two or three games?
The AP reported the Goodell was aware of Roberts’ concerns when the suspension was handed down. If approved, that would effectively stop the league from enforcing a six-game suspension, The Associated Press reports. Dallas has a bye week in Week 6.
FALCONS: Atlanta completed its roster for Sunday’s opener at Chicago by signing linebacker Jordan Tripp, who played nine games last season for Seattle and Green Bay.
Ezekiel Elliott hasn’t run out of options to fight the NFL’s six-game suspension. In that case, Darren McFadden would be the primary ballcarrier against the Giants.
Alfred Morris, a former 1,000-yard rusher with Washington, and Rod Smith would fulfill backup running back duties in Elliott’s absence.

Those on the ground in Texas said that Judge Amos Mazzant III handled the TRO hearing late Tuesday in a way that seemed favorable to Elliott.
