“We deserved better and played for a better result”, Mourinho said after the game.
The London outfit have made a poor start to their Barclays Premier League title defence this season, collecting only four points from their opening five games of the campaign.

I know that it is easy for everybody to criticize me and the players and everything is wrong and we don’t play nothing, I completely disagree.

The Blues crumbled to a 3-1 defeat at the home of Everton, who coasted to the three points courtesy of Steven Naismith’s ideal hat-trick. “It showed the real standard of this dressing room, it is a strong squad but mentality is everything”.

And the outstanding performance of centre-back John Stones, the subject of four failed bids from Chelsea during the summer transfer window, will only have increased the visitors’ frustration.
