Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is world’s sixth-richest person
As per the recent statement by the Founder and CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, “pretty soon” six new emotions will be added to the social network throughout the world.
Unfortunately, the long-rumoured thumbs down button hasn’t been included, users will be able to post a sad or angry emoji.
Last year, it was reported that Facebook was creating a new feature called Reactions.
The reactions initially included six new emojis.
Whether it is a status update, sharing an interesting post, updating a life event or uploading a latest selfie, any particular post on facebook is appreciated by pressing the “Like” button.
Facebook said it will soon roll out options to its traditional “like” button. Mark preferred it this way as it offers users more range.
“As will Facebook advertisers, no doubt, due to the extra and more nuanced feedback about what marketing messages are working, rather than just a like or dislike”.
The company said it had 1.59 billion monthly active users worldwide as of December 31, up 14% year-over-year.
The “love”, “haha”, “wow”, “sad” and “angry” buttons are being tested in several countries, Zuckerberg said.
Though Facebook doesn’t break out its video, mobile or Instagram numbers, Re/code spoke with COO Sheryl Sandberg before the earnings call, asking about whether the company’s video ad dollars were beginning to chip away at TV’s share.
Indeed, for years now users have been requesting a way to provide more nuanced feedback without having to actually write a message.
Facebook exited the quarter with cash & cash equivalents and marketable securities of $18.4 billion, up 64.6% year over year. A bit of a curve for views and stats, but according to the company, over 100 million hours of video are watched on Facebook each day. For years now, Facebook users wanted the company to include a dislike button along with its most popular like button.
