Facebook experiences Second Outage in Less Than a Week
Some media outlets are reporting that some users are starting to get back on the site as the company works to restore service to everyone. “Yes, it was down and for those who earn their bread and butter by Facebook, it is a nightmare”.
Facebook suffered a similar outage last Thursday when it was down in North America, Europe, Australia and India.
Facebook crashed this evening, leaving millions of users without access to their personal data.
The site, which also owns Instagram, denied they were hacked at the time and blamed the outage on “a change that affected our configuration systems”. An update by Facebook software engineer Benjamin Golub noted: “A Facebook-wide issue is causing the Facebook Graph API to be temporarily unavailable”.
Monday’s outage marks the third time the service has gone down in the last three weeks.
The outage prompted humorous posts on Twitter, with #facebookdown among the top trending hashtags during and after the service disruption.
Advertisers are also not happy with the situation and showed their frustration on other social media networks.
Zuckerberg immediately recruited his friends Dustin Moskovitz, Chris Hughes, and Eduardo Saverin to help build Facebook, and within four months, Facebook added 30 more college networks.
Facebook is back up after being down for nearly 1 hour.
