Facebook Messenger Adds Group Video Chat Feature
Group Video Chat in Messenger is an easy-to-use means to stay connected face-to-face with your friends and family.
How To Use Facebook’s Group Video Chat? Trying to keep pace with other players, Facebook has finally given its Messenger service group video chat capabilities, finally fulfilling its most requested feature ever. Perhaps more importantly, it sets Facebook Messenger apart from what Whatsapp offers; one offers solutions for groups, businesses and networks, the other is a tool largely directed at social interaction for individuals. Line, the messaging app from Japan, started letting users video chat with up to 200 friends earlier this month. People can chat Up to 50 people at a time on a single Video Chat. Beyond that, it is a pretty straightforward and intuitive feature. To check if you are one of those users to access the newly introduced feature, just log into your Facebook account from you desktop. Click that icon and the Facebook Messenger app will start broadcasting your live video feed on the group. However, to use Skype, the user first needs to know the Skype login id of the person to add them to a group call, which creates an additional hassle for the users. The change, for now is only restricted to Android users although an iOS version is on its way soon enough. This feature had been requested for quite some time now but the social networking giant has finally made a decision to roll it out for Android and iOS devices as well as Web version worldwide.
Competition in the video chat market has been heating up recently. After the six people are on the call, you will be able to view only the dominant speaker.
In a surprising move, Snapchat has not jumped on board with group video chat yet. Although the biggest social media company in the world still boasts over 1.7 billion users, which is several times what Snapchat has, the younger demographic will ultimately shape the future of social media.
