Facebook’s live videos can now be twice as long
While those interactive elements are often part of what makes live-streaming fun, it’s a welcome move after users complained about seeing reaction emoji and troll comments flying around on screen on hard-hitting videos. Fullscreen mode will work in portrait and landscape mode for iOS devices. The developers of Facebook have upgraded its features with its extended broadcast system and with the trends of full-screen digital video option.
The key highlight, among other improvements, is that users will now be able to broadcast up to four hours of video per session.
This one’s different, trust us.
The update should be finding its way to users starting today, but Facebook will be rolling out slowly over the course of the next few days/weeks, so if you don’t see it yet, don’t worry as it should find its way to you eventually. Saved videos can be then viewed offline as many times as users want.
Facebook has also added fullscreen and video-only modes through the update.
Facebook Live has video only mode that can help hide reactions and comments during a broadcast. While these innovations might appear to be useless to some users, they will surely amplify the live broadcast experience for many others on the network.
Skeptics have raised concerns over the feature, saying the additional two hours would spread ‘negativity.’ However, the company has clarified through a blog post that it would keep a strict check on the videos being broadcast, ensuring nothing wrong or negative is shown. Last month, Facebook started testing its offline video feature in India via the Facebook version 85 and 86 (beta) for Android.
