Her dog remained at the crash scene, lying down near the spot of the accident, until relatives of the victim arrived to pick up the dog.
Kelly Black, 42, was struck by the semi-trailer at around 6.12am on Friday morning while walking her dog. He remained there, lying in the road with a red bandana around his neck, long after her body had been removed, the station reported.
But her Kelly’s dad GC Bostick sad: “I don’t see how someone could hit her here and drag her all the way out to Beaver St. and not have known it”.
Paco stayed on the scene for hours, even laying down on the ground where the accident happened.
WFOX 30 Paco stayed put for hours after Black’s death, and is “not too happy” according to the victim’s mother, who is familiar with her daughter’s dogs.
Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office believe the driver may have been unaware they hit Ms Black.
Black’s family told Action News Jax that she and Paco were inseparable, which Paco proved in his gut-wrenching display of loyalty.
Police contacted the woman’s family who came to collect Paco.
“I wish somebody would call and tell what they’ve seen, or what happened and why it happened”, she said. Black had two dogs.
