Fallout 4 Game-Crashing Bug Discovered by Players, Bethesda Investigating
While initially reported on the PC version of Fallout 4, console players on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 have also reported the same behavior.
The bug, which crashes to desktop on PC, is triggered as part of a settlement quest where players are sent to Monsignor Plaza.
We recently pointed out one crash on the PC that seems to be a bit of a game breaking bug when it comes to traveling to Monsignor Plaza.
So far, there are a few theories as to what exactly causes the game to crash.
According to the user’s investigation, it appears the bug only happens when you reach a certain point of the game’s story, saying that if you come across this quest earlier than he did, you may not have the crash.
A member on Bethesda forums has been kind enough to grab a number of the workarounds for these kinds of problems, because as of now, it doesn’t appear Bethesda is going to be releasing a patch for these problems anytime soon.
Glitches and bugs are no strangers to Bethesda titles as many typically launched with a variety from the harmless graphical bugs, technical issues, and to the downright hilarious. The developer has not yet responded to complaints about the issue, so it’s unknown if a fix is coming.
Even though these games are known to launch with issues, it doesn’t stop the public from picking up a copy.
Bethesda say that Fallout 4 was the most pre-ordered game this year with a few retailers, although have failed to mention any specific outlet.
Being of such a big size as it is, Fallout 4 is guaranteed to have a fair share of bugs, and many have confirmed that to be the case.
Beware the settlement quests in Fallout 4. If so, let us know in the comments.
