Fallout 76 announced by Bethesda Game Studios
Expect to hear more about the game and possibly see it in action at Bethesda’s E3 conference on June 10.
As juicy as the reveal trailer is, it doesn’t give us a Fallout 76 release date. In fact, that was probably the most exciting thing in the trailer.
Watch the official teaser trailer for Fallout 76 from award-winning creators Bethesda Game Studios.
“#Fallout76 – the newest game from Bethesda Game Studios”. And before you ask, no, we don’t know what happened to Fallout 5 – 75. However, Vault 76’s name comes with a lot of history. Both Fallout 3 and 4 reference it and, according to the Fallout Wikia, it was occupied by 500 people who were meant to be a control group.
Construction began in February of 2065 and ended in October of 2069. Since then it has been referred to in the Fallout 3 Mothership Zeta DLC in alien captive record logs (number 13). It was also briefly mentioned in the Mothership Zeta expansion pack and Fallout 4. Prior to the reveal, the teaser had Fallout fans speculating about if this would be an entirely new game or a remastered version of a previous game in the Fallout series.
Kotaku’s Jason Schreier has suggested that the game will involve online gameplay of some kind (though not MOO gameplay).
What do we know about the game?
Take a look at some grabs from the trailer for Fallout 76, from award-winning creators Bethesda Game Studios. It doesn’t seem to be the full-fledged single-player RPG that the community may be accustomed to, but it’s still certainly intriguing. Coincidentally, SoMeh also vouches for the Nintendo E3 Showcase leak that many dismissed as faked.
