Family finds spider crawling inside bag of salad
“Mum goes to open the packet and we are greeted by…”
Alarming footage has emerged of a fierce-looking spider crawling inside an unopened bag of salad.
WOOLWORTHS is suffering another blow after a Sydney woman uploaded a video on Facebook of what appeared to be a large huntsman spider trapped in her unopened Italian salad.
More than two million people have viewed the clip, which has prompted the Woolworths fruit and veg store to launch an investigation.
She signed off: “Kind regards, an arachnophobic family”.
Earlier on Thursday Woolworths ordered a recall on four of its packaged salad brands after the products were linked to 28 cases of salmonella.
Woolworths responded to the post on their page.
But Zoe Perry, who found the eight-legged critter, reckons she might have discovered the real reason.
“Please let us know your phone number and state … so that we can follow this up with you ASAP”.
A Woolworths spokesman said the supermarket took food safety very seriously, and detailed the “clear quality control guidelines” and “extensive process” that prepackaged lettuce goes through before being packaged.
Ms Perry has been contacted by ninemsn for comment.
