Family, police seek answers in Virginia Tech murder
Eisenhauer, a former Virginia Tech cross country runner, was arrested first on abduction charges on Saturday.
Chris Heydrick, 18, of Ellicott City, was equally stunned about Eisenhauer’s arrest.
Keepers is charged with improper disposal of a body and accessory after the fact.
The arrest warrants for Keepers and Eisenhauer include a paragraph that reads “Was firearm used in the offense” – and a box is checked “No” on all four warrants.
Both Eisenhauer and Keepers are students at Virginia Tech, which is located in Blacksburg. “But we didn’t know nothing about it until she came up missing, unfortunately”, she said. David Eisenhauer is charged with first-degree murder.
Both Eisenhauer and Keepers remain in jail without bond. Another Virginia Tech student, Natalie Keepers, 19, faces charges of improper disposal of a body and accessory after the fact in the commission of a felony. Police have said Eisenhauer and Lovell knew each other but weren’t giving further details Monday.
A 13-year-old girl who police say was abducted and killed by a Virginia Tech student is being remembered by friends as an “angel” on Earth.
Police divers have been searching a pond on the Virginia Tech campus, but authorities would not say what they were looking for.
Nicole Madison Lovell was just 13 when she was lured into a relationship and then killed by Virginia Tech student David Eisenhauer.
Monday, the two people police believe are responsible for her what happened to her, made their first court appearance in Virginia.
“We’re all just in utter shock”, Keating said. “I’m hurt. It’s unbelievable”. “She was telling me that girls were saying she was fat and talking about her scars from her transplant…It got so bad I wouldn’t send her”.
Her fate devastated her mother, Tammy Weeks, who also spoke at Tuesday’s news conference, describing the health problems her daughter battled and the joys in her short life. “That (expletive) took her life”.
“Based on the evidence collected to date, investigators have determined that Eisenhauer and Nicole were acquainted prior to her disappearance”, Blacksburg police said in a statement, according to the Associated Press. “It was some off-the-wall site I never heard of”, she told the paper.
At the time of Nicole Lovell’s initial disappearance, the girl had purposefully sought to leave the family home, having climbed out of her window, whilst putting a dresser in front of her bedroom door.
Weeks said her daughter was a seventh-grader at Blacksburg Middle School.
Researchers from Virginia Tech and New Mexico State University tested the most common class of insecticide called neonicotinoids, or neonics, which is often combined with pyrethroids in commercial treatments for bedbugs. The Sun said Eisenhauer had moved to Columbia from Yakima, Washington, for his junior year and quickly became a star on the East Coast. His profile on the school’s sports site was removed after the charges were announced.
Keepers, who also went to high school in Columbia, Maryland, has previously interned for NASA at the Goddard Space Flight Center, according to her LinkedIn page. He won the 2015 Howard County boys indoor track Athlete of the Year. Eisenhauer was an engineering student and one of Maryland’s top high school runners.
A number listed for Eisenhauer’s parents was busy Sunday. No one answered the phone at Keepers’ home in Laurel.
