Fanboys disgruntled by positive Ghostbusters reviews, water is wet
But somehow, Ghostbusters 2.0 has managed to offend people before they’ve seen it. Some fans of the classic ’80s action-comedies are so incensed by this reimagining (which boasts co-creator Dan Aykroyd as an executive producer) that they’ve made its trailer the most disliked in YouTube’s history.
One of the stars of the original Ghostbusters film has said he wanted both men and women to feature in the lead roles of the new movie rather than an all-female line-up.
“He said, ‘We all jumped up and applauded at the end.’ He said he was nervous at the beginning and then they soon relaxed when they saw how well it was going and how much fun the movie is”. So what does the Internet’s general barometer for such things, Rotten Tomatoes, have to say about this movie?
The new Ghostbusters cast also includes Chris Hemsworth as the team’s new secretary, Andy Garcia as the Mayor of New York City, Neil Casey as the film’s villain, Ronan, and Michael K. Williams and Matt Walsh as Hawkins and Rourke.
Bringing together three Saturday Night Live alumni – Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon and Kristen Wiig – and Queen of Comedy Melissa McCarthy, this remake starts off very brightly with some nice one-liners (the Irish even get a mention within the first three minutes), nerdy nous and just-right pacing.
The reviews for Paul Feig’s female-fronted reboot of Ghostbusters are in and … they’re broadly positive, with United Kingdom critics cheerleading slightly harder for the film than their peers across the pond. The “Ghostbusters” film by Paul Feig has just enough changes about the original concept to give it a new feel, but the thought of the story is the same.
“The gloves are the hottest”, she said.
“They asked us to come back and do cameos, which I did, and I got a chance to meet the ladies”, says Ernie Hudson, who played Winston Zeddemore in the original 1984 film and its 1989 sequel.

Wait until you see it, and you’ll likely think the same thing. However, mediocre reviews may limit the movie’s opening box office, which early estimates put at around $40-50 million. “It was just very instructive to watch them from a front-row seat”.
