Fans angry as Adele concert tickets sell out
This is a trend seen nationally, as scalpers and so-called “fans” snapped up tickets for Adele shows across the country before listing them online to secure a quick and lucrative payday. Adele’s 56 North American tour dates will kick off in St. Paul, Minnesota, on July 5 and end November 15 in Mexico City.
Tickets for Adele’s first North American tour in five years went on sale this morning at precisely 10 a.m. and were all but gone by 10:01 a.m. – give or take 59 seconds.
Hello, it’s ALL OF US, AND WE WANT OUR GODDAMN ADELE TICKETS, YOU HACK SCAMMERS!
Tickets sale will start Thursday, Dec. 17.
On Stubhub’s website, tickets were already being sold for $450 on up to the doesn’t-hurt-to-ask $9,000 by early Thursday afternoon. Nonetheless not many thought that getting the tickets will be tough.
WCCO reports many fans had trouble buying tickets, with the Ticketmaster website experiencing issues due to the huge demand for the highly-anticipated tour. The prices on Ticketmaster or the singer’s website ranged from $39.50 to $149.50 for tickets, according to CNN. Despite all of this, Ticketmaster stayed true to its reputation of being The Worst as it failed to iron out a slew of technical difficulties, leaving a number of fans without tickets shortly after the shows went on sale. After spending hours on their computers and having everything go right, many shared tweets of joy that were able to get seats for the 2016 shows. Adele debuted her long-awaited album, “25”, and it sold a whopping five million copies in just three weeks of release.
