Fans line up for premiere of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’
“The Force Awakens” is expected to break box office records, as it has already made more than $100 million in pre-sales.
Stars Wars: The Force Awakens brought out fans all day long including Brandon Adair, who arrived at the Lennox Theatres at 8:30 a.m. for a 7 p.m. showing. Harry Knowles, founder of fan site Ain’t It Cool News, gushed on Twitter, where #StarWarsTheForceAwakens was a trending topic Thursday night.
And although fans can expect those details to remain guarded until release, LucasFilm’s Kathleen Kennedy has confirmed one important part of the next instalment – the stars of The Force Awakens will all be returning.
From the costumes to tattoos to hair just like Princess Leia, it’s the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
“But there are literally thousands of tickets available for this weekend, and Irish exhibitors have a lot of flexibility in terms of capacity and increasing the number of shows based on demand”. For Terry and his son, the event was a family affair, the first time both were able to attend a showing of a new Star Wars movie in theatres.
“It was outstanding”, she said as she left the screening Thursday night clutching a shiny keepsake popcorn bin.
Besides the USA, the film has soared its way to the top position in Australia as well as Japan, the UK, Germany, France and Italy where it recorded huge numbers.
Moviegoers in Paramus, New Jersey said they film “did not disappoint”.
Not every fan who saw the film opening night was dazzled. “They did it old style”. The Force Awakens debuts Friday with nothing but potential for greatness, at least if we’re going by the track record of director J.J. Abrams and a few kick-ass trailers and commercials.
“It’s totally worth it because it’s probably the most attention I got all year”, said Tiffany Johnson.
