Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them: Production Begins, Full Cast Revealed
The film, which is being filmed at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden. The description for the movie doesn’t really give anything new away, but it does seem to shape the set-up of the story a tad bit more… Yet Farrell is the latest addition to what shaped up to be a talented collection of actors for the film adaptation of The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, J.K. Rowling’s 2001 book based on the creatures of the Harry Potter universe.
Academy Award victor Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything) is the headliner as Newt Scamander, the wizarding world’s preeminent magizoologist, who stops in New York following his travels to find and document magical creatures. “The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt’s story will start in New York, seventy years before Harry’s gets underway”. Colin Farrell also stars, though his role is unknown.
Filming started today, August 17, at Warner Bros.
Other encounters along the way will include Katherine Waterston as Tina; Alison Sudol as Tina’s sister, Queenie; Dan Fogler as Jacob; Ezra Miller as Credence; Samantha Morton as Mary Lou; Jenn Murray as Chastity; and young newcomer Faith Wood-Blagrove as Modesty. The film will be released in 3D and IMAX on November 18, 2016. The script is the first attempt at screenwriting for Rowling and is inspired by her character Newt Scamander’s Hogwarts textbook, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them“. The films made Harry Potter the highest-grossing film franchise of all time. Various Potter crew members including producer David Heyman, production designer Stuart Craig, and visual effects designer Tim Burke are also back.
