Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 3: Best Pickups At Every Position
Bortles struggled in Week 1 and threw for 273 yards and two touchdowns in Week 2, but people are still worryhe’ll disappoint this year. Williams is still a good player to have since Bryant is out for almostas long as Romo.
After all, they get Oakland this week and that is a very winnable game. Wright is still the top option in Tennessee, and Marcus Mariota is going to utilize him more often than not. One of the most widely owned defense in fantasy football, the Ravens managed to get their owners just 1 sack and 1 INT, while allowing 37 points to the Raiders.
Jones was clearly ahead of Mohamed Sanu last week and he scored on a sweet bomb from Andy Dalton. Unless you are participating in daily fantasy football, this is a long season and you should treat it as such. Yet, for some reason, they’re only owned in less than 40 percent in all NFL.com leagues. There were some key injuries, step up performances, and major letdowns in fantasy football week 2 as well, and to keep you up to speed on all the fantasy football week 2 happenings check out my studs, duds, and sleepers on the following slides. Out of the rest of the Vikings receivers, no one seen more than three.
Nick Foles – Great against Seattle, terribleagainst Washington…If you’re down to 0 QB’s, Foles will likely produce on an every other week kind of pattern. While fantasy owners are rushing to the waiver wire to add those guys, they might be planning to drop Eagles’ rookie receiver Nelson Agholor, who’s already looking like a bust. With Bell returning to the fold this week, Williams’ value plummets, though his success does bode well for Bell’s return. If you started Carr this week, screen shot it and put it as your profile picture to show your glory. This past week, Matthews notched his second career 100-yard day. Belichick loves to play the matchups, so when the Pats play a team with a weaker defensive front than Buffalo (read: the entire league), Blount will see much more work and Lewis’s role will shrink. If your worst enemy in the league owns Morris, snag Matt Jones off waivers. Hmmm…Alfred Morris was supposed to be the guy there but it’s hard to ignore what Jones did last week. CJ2K out-touched him, but only had a few more yards.
Terron Ward – Atlanta – Tevin Coleman has a broken rib and Devontae Freeman sucks. In the same game, Johnny Football showed that he may not be done just yet after being written off by some long ago.
Even with T.Y. Hilton getting healthy, Donte Moncrief should be owned in all leagues moving forward. The reeling Colts still lack a serious threat run game with the combination of Gore and Robinson, so expect Moncrief to continue to be involved. From Week 10 through the conclusion of the 2014 season, Hill scored 99 fantasy points, tied for seventh-most among running backs. If Carr stays on an upward trajectory and plays like he did in Sunday’s win over Baltimore (351 yards, 3 TDs), Crabtree and rookie Amari Cooper could be in for big years.
The statline for Rishard Matthews is misleading this week. He started the game sharp, completing 3 of 5 passes for 49 yards with a dropped pass, but took a hit to his right shoulder on the Saints third drive and wasn’t the same after.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the next coming of Josh Cribbs is in Cleveland and his name is Travis Benjamin. Matty Ice reels off 363 yards, and not a single 1 of them is thrown to Roddy White? Floyd has two targets and one catch this season. Cutler receives more than his fair share of disdain, but his options in Chicago are better off in fantasy with him behind center.
If you need a startable wide receiver in a deep league immediately, you could do worse than Darrius Heyward-Bey.
Leonard Hankerson, WR, ATL (4% owned). Even with fellow tight end and teammate Dennis Pitta sidelined for the foreseeable future, the presumption was that second-round rookie Maxx Williams would pick up the slack.
Last week was an excellent example of why you should wait. Freeman can help you in all league sizes and is worth a little more in PPR formats. I believe Hill has more than enough talent to be a star, and he’s on an offense that wants to feed their backs the ball. If you have the No. 1 waiver, use it on Starks.
Ladarius Green will continue to be valuable but unspectacular until the return of Antonio Gates. You can check out our previous coverage on Romo’s injury right here! We’ll also take a closer look at Jones in the section below.
Murray was set to face his former team, the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2. He lives with his fiancée, Cheyenne. Not at all. It’s just that there’s a good chance he’s been a good option thanks to favorable game planning.
So, while Morris is still seeing volume, he needs to be more efficient with it. In Week 2, that wasn’t the case, as his per-rush NEP of -0.20 was far worse than Jones’ 0.23.
Here are five sleepers you should consider for Week 3.
