Far Cry Primal debut trailer released; coming February 2016
Ubisoft‘s latest addition to their trademark open-world franchise will be called Far Cry Primal, with the announcement coming alongside a reveal trailer. Check out the trailer and screenshots at Rock, Paper, SHOTGUN if you haven’t seen them yet. We believe this might be a sneak peek into the multiplayer co-op campaigns the new Far Cry may offer to players. Gamers can enter online for a chance to win a trip to San Francisco and an early hands-on with Far Cry Primal before its release in 2016. Sure, people knew Far Cry Primal was the next big project, but nothing has been seen thus far of the development process. The PC release will follow at a few point in March. The single-player title will follow the character Takkar, the last surviving member of his hunting group after it was ambushed. They will meet a cast of memorable characters who will help them push back and tame the dangers of the wild.
Basically, this new title is what Far Cry Blood Dragon was between 3 and 4 – a placeholder game that will definitely provide fun gameplay without too much story.
Where exactly in the world Far Cry Primal takes place is unknown at this time since the trailer shows lush forests as well as snowcapped mountains. Players will journey as the first human to tame the wilderness and rise above extinction.
“Stone Age is the ideal setting for a Far Cry game”, added Jean-Christophe Guyot, Creative Director, Ubisoft.
Welcome to the Stone Age, a time of omnipresent danger and limitless adventure, where giant woolly mammoths and saber-toothed tigers rule the Earth, and humanity is at the bottom of the food chain.
“The reality is that at the end of each “Far Cry” we ask ourselves “where do we want to go next?'” said executive producer Dan Hay in a behind the scenes featurette. That came with conflict, against other humans of course, but also against nature itself”.
