Far Cry Primal (Reveal Trailer)
“The interesting thing about Far Cry is that it’s flexible”. As the last survivor of your hunting group, you will learn to craft a deadly arsenal, fend off fierce predators, and outsmart enemy tribes to conquer the land of Oros and become the Apex Predator.
Ubisoft’s latest addition to their trademark open-world franchise will be called Far Cry Primal, with the announcement coming alongside a reveal trailer.
On October. 5, Ubisoft teased fans with a livestream of a cave painting and promised a few breaking news. The new game will reportedly be set in the Stone Age with prehistoric animals like tigers and woolly mammoths. Players will also need to master survival skills, such as making and handling fire which would be essential later on.
Eighth in the series, “Far Cry Primal” arrives following the Himalayan “Far Cry 4″ in 2014, and satirical retro futuristic spin-off “Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon” in 2013. Although its Stone Age setting clearly deviates from the themes of other “Far Cry” games, the game still falls in line with the action-adventure aspect of the franchise.
Where exactly in the world Far Cry Primal takes place is unknown at this time since the trailer shows lush forests as well as snowcapped mountains.
“The Stone Age is the flawless setting for a Far Cry game”, Jean-Christophe Guyot, Ubisoft’s creative director, said in a statement. The Stone Age is, in a way, the very first frontier for humankind; it’s the time when humans put a stick in the ground and claimed land for their own, the time when we started climbing the food chain.
Far Cry Primal was announced and it is even more console-centric than the previous release, seeing as how the PC launch will be a month after its initial release. “That came with conflict, against other humans of course, but also against nature itself”. The official game trailer was revealed 24 hours later, showing Takkar working with a group of hunters as if he were part of a tribe to hunt down a mammoth.
