Farmers block shop entrances in milk protests
With dairy commodity prices continuing to fall globally, growing discontent at UK level has led to increasing appetite for protests from some parts of the industry.
The protests were held at four locations throughout the day on Thursday (30 July). They are left with none now, so it’s mission accomplished for us.
“We do recognise however, due to reduced global demand, that this has created an oversupply of British milk, creating hard conditions for many dairy farmers at present”.
Tesco was heavily targeted forcing Dale Farm milk delivery lorries away from the store.

Mad farmers have taken a cow to a Cornish supermarket – and cleared all the milk off the shelves.
Tesco said it was the biggest buyer of UK lamb, but did stock New Zealand lamb “to ensure customers have consistently high and affordable lamb year round”.
The protest, which began at about 8pm on Thursday, lasted for three hours and attracted about 250 farmers.
“Farmers have had enough – they are at rock bottom”.
And the action comes just two days after a protest at Morrisons in Stoke-on-Trent on Wednesday in which farmers drove tractors along the A50 to the store in single file.
It follows Morrisons decision to reduce the price of two pints of milk in stores to 74p.
