Farmers block supermarkets over milk prices
A group of farmers from South Gloucestershire have been protesting against low milk prices – by targeting supermarket fridges.

A Facebook video posted yesterday showed farmers taking milk bottles from the retailer’s shelf and putting them in trolleys, before walking out of shot. The Monmouthshire dairy farmer also echoed claims made previously to Farmers Guardian he may be forced to quit the industry in the coming months due to price issues.
“We want to get the message out that we’re about to go out of business”.
Tesco was heavily targeted forcing Dale Farm milk delivery lorries away from the store.
Welsh farmers complained that Tesco was selling too much foreign lamb, especially lamb from New Zealand, at the expense of homegrown produce.
The protests are over falling milk prices.

Tesco said it was the biggest buyer of UK lamb, but did stock New Zealand lamb “to ensure customers have consistently high and affordable lamb year round”.
“Morrisons you have been milked”.
It comes after hundreds of farmers took part in a protest over milk prices at Stormont on Thursday afternoon, which coincided with a meeting of the agriculture committee.
“Farmers have had enough – they are at rock bottom”.
