Fatehabad SP transferred after spat with BJP minister Anil Vig

Fatehabad, Nov. 27 (ANI): Haryana well being minister Anil Vij had a verbal spat with Fatehabad superintendent of police (SP) Sangeeta Kalia right now after the previous requested Kalia to “get out” of a gathering.

The ugly confrontation took place during a meeting of the District Grievances and Public Relations Committee here which was also attended by Deputy Commissioner N K Solanki.

According news reports, Vij was chairing the committee meeting on 27 November in Fatehabad, Haryana.

A video grab shows the minister getting agitated while asking Kalia about a complaint pertaining to unauthorized sale of liquor. Ms Sangeeta Kalia stood her ground, or rather stayed put in her seat, and refused to obey the politician’s diktat.

The reply, however, did not satisfy the minister.

He has also complained to the chief minister and the director-general of police about the “insubordination”.

The minister left in a huff but not before swearing to never attend any meeting in future if she was present. First a woman IPS oficer is asked to get out, (of a meeting) and then she has been removed from her post and transferred.

“Her angle is just not good, I will complain to the Chief Minister…”

“I have informed the Chief Minister about this incident as it is very serious. The government’s image has taken a hit and the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign is bound to suffer”, the letter mentioned, seeking “suitable action against the minister”.

Following it with a tweet, Vij said that he is ready to pay any price and even ready to make sacrifice to ensure justice to people who are oppressed due to indifferent attitude of administration.

Kalia has been posted as commandant, 4th India Reserve Battalion (IRB), Manesar.

It was in 2010 when Dharam Pal took retirement from the Fatehabad police and in the same time his daughter joined the Haryana police as an IPS officer.
