Fazl suggests MQM to review its resignations move
Chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman says he has been asked by the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition to contact the leadership of MQM for convince them to withdraw their resignations.
But the JUI-F chief said he clarified his position that once resignations are submitted, they can not be taken back as per the spirit of the Constitution.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting of leaders of parliamentary political parties with the prime minister, the JUI-F chief said that political leaders who attended the meeting expressed concern over the resignation of MQM lawmakers and the possibility of a resulting political crisis in the country. He said the legal experts of the National Assembly Secretariat are evaluating the resignations and that he will review whether or not to accept resignations tomorrow (Thursday).
Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, while talking to a TV channel, feared that the security situation was going to deteriorate in Karachi following the resignations of MQM parliamentarians and said the MQM would be a loser due to its sudden decision. He will also try to play a role in removing reservations of MQM regarding Rangers operation in Karachi and arrests of MQM workers.
But in case of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Fazal ur Rehaman re-forced law makers to pass de-seating resolution to de-seat PTI MNAs.
Federal Minister for Climate Change Mushahidullah told the media that the MQM was demonstrating politics of blackmailing rather than public welfare.
