‘Fear the Walking Dead’: Watch the Opening Scene
In his search to find her, Nick discovers several gruesome sights (and dead bodies) it’s clear he rather not see.
On the other hand, Los Angeles-set Fear the Walking Dead aims to chart the creeping paranoia and more gradual disintegration of a major city amid a mysterious, rapidly spreading virus.
This time it’s Los Angeles that will be showcased during the zombie apocalypse whcih has seemingly crushed modern civilisation, certainly in the US at least.
And it isn’t actually a prequel, it’s a parallel story that begins a bit earlier than “The Walking Dead”.

Up until now “The Walking Dead” has taken place on the east coast, down in Atlanta while slowly working its way up to Alexandria, Virginia.
The coma that Rick (Andrew Lincoln) woke from in season 1 of “The Walking Dead” was, “per Kirkman… approximately four to five weeks”, Erickson said.
The companion series gives us a different take than what fans of TWD have seen with that show set in Georgia and well into the zombie apocalypse.
