‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Zombie Airplane Web Series to Launch this Fall
I rather like that we get to know more of Daniel through this with his past as we’re clued in that he was on the wrong side of everything, but the reality is that he has discovered the truth of what’s going on.
Liza and Dr. Exeter were with Griselda when she passed away. “We have work to do, Liza”. “You don’t think she’s human, do you?” he asks Travis as he casually sets up the rifle. “What is this?” Madison demands to know. We finally learn the truth behind Daniel, who was a torturer during the Salvadoran Civil War, and Ruben Blades plays it perfectly. Ofelia thinks it’s to trade Adams for the others. Unfortunately my 2am morning show wakeup call awaits, so I have to be quick. This is how you write a morally ambiguous leader, and Daniel will forever be the golden star of this so-so show. Daniel asked.
Rick has undergone a major transformation since the beginning of The Walking Dead.
The soldiers came back to Travis, but one of them apparently got killed.
I love how this show is moving so quickly through time. The man totally provoked him, though.
AMC has released a three-minute video previewing Season 6 of The Walking Dead. Daniel, for going to that arena full of zombies. “Mr. Mayor, you’re up”, Lt. Moyer tells Travis.
In fact, Moyers kind of just gets worse. He sits inside the vehicle hearing their screams over the walkie-talkie.
Daniel Salazar talked to the National Guardsman in the chair. Who’s giving the “Cobalt” command? They all “nope” right out of Travis’s mission and take him back home.
Standing outside, Alicia told Chris, “Something’s wrong”. There’s some pointed conversation here about what it is that Travis won’t do while accepting the protection of the military and it’s another nod towards the hard choices that are going to have to be made about living in this new world. She smiles when she makes Chris uncomfortable after he spots her in someone else’s dress not fully zipped up. Travis is clearly ready to make a run for it with his family, but first he’ll have to get into that military camp and save Nick and the deceased Griselda. “Let me have the boy”.
He likes to write a lot, as you can see. “Daniel is quicker to accept the idea of what’s behind those doors – it’s not that they’re zombies, it’s that they’re a threat”. But they’re all building and forming themselves with their own image. “Tobias is not dead, as far was we know”, Erickson told Yahoo TV.
Travis finds the shell-shocked Ofelia outside on the curb when he arrives home. Does she really like him? He finds out about the torture – and the meaning of the order “Cobalt” that the torture revealed: the military’s secret plan to evacuate Los Angeles and flee the growing walker epidemic – and the “humane termination” of whoever’s left standing. The countdown is on.
Strand doesn’t know what “Cobalt” is, but he knows something is up.
“The game has changed”, Strand says coldly.
The key struggle depicted this week is the ongoing efforts of people who feel they’re doing what needs to be done. I’m not surprised he was a torturer, and that he’s killed people to obtain information, nor am I terribly surprised that he’s as cold-blooded as you’d expect someone like that to be when push comes to shove. “No, you’re a heroin addict. That’s the gold standard, don’t sell yourself short”.
Because the soldiers are departing – and when he makes a break for it, he’ll need a “man with [Nick’s] talents”. The big question now is: Will the family stay in town or go? The first, as we saw tonight, was that the military was actually overrun at times: Even with their superior weaponry and armor, sometimes the sheer force of numbers overwhelmed them. Exeter said that she “was down to three nurses now”.
Later, after Liza sneaks in to see Grisela, Exner explains that she has to be shot in the head, or else, like everyone who passed away, she’d come back. She went around, and whispered, “Griselda!”
The “Fear the Walking Dead” Season 1 finale airs next Sunday night at 9 PM ET/PT on AMC.
