Federal Bureau of Investigation catches kidnapping suspect in Holland
Investigators say a man assaulted and kidnapped a 53-year-old woman from her home just after 12:00 a.m. on Friday. The robber allegedly came at the victim with a hammer, forced her into the trunk of her vehicle and drove to Munster, Ind., where he was captured by bank surveillance videos at two ATM machines. This footage also depicted Clay wearing a white T-Shirt, semi-transparent nylon face covering, a black watch and gloves, according to the complaint.
A man was arrested Sunday in Holland, wanted for kidnapping a woman in Lansing, Illinois.
The suspect is believed to have continued traveling in the area, making a stop in Harbor, Indiana, where the woman was located by law enforcement, the Federal Bureau of Investigation statement said.
The woman told officials that Clay sexually assaulted her again when the auto stopped.
The man then took her auto and police later found it abandoned in Holland.
Police say friends of the suspect identified him through the surveillance photos and they obtained mugshots through criminal records in Illinois and Michigan.
