FG declares July 17, 20 holidays for Sallah

MANILA, July 15 (PIA)-The Department of Labor & Employment (DOLE) reminded employers to observe and comply with the pay rules on Eid’l Fitr on Friday, July 17, 2015, a regular national holiday.

The UAE official moon sighting committee is likely to meet later this week and an official announcement will be made.

Stock exchanges in the United Arab Emirates will close from July 16 and reopen on the fourth day of Shawwal, the month that follows Ramadan in the Hijri calendar.

The event at “Barwa workers recreation complex” in Al Khor Industrial Area and Asian Town cricket stadium at Doha Industrial area will be held on the first and second days of Eid Al Fitr from 3 pm – 10 pm.

The governor of the Philippines’ Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) has called on Muslim residents to not celebrate the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday with festive gunfire.

To mark the beginning of Eid and in accordance with the Sunnah, or practices of the Prophet Muhammad, many Muslims wake up early in the morning and pray Salat ul-Fajr, or the pre-dawn prayer.

Police officers will inspect the service firearms of all policemen in the autonomous region and initiate an inventory of the ammunition issued to them a day after the Eid celebration.

However, if the new moon is not sighted on Thursday, Muslims will have to fast on Friday and the Eid will be celebrated on Saturday.
