Fiat to launch Abarth Punto on October 19, 2015
The Abarth brand already has a auto to its name the 595 Competizione and as we have said the sting of the scorpion makes it a pocket rocket and we expect the Punto Evo to be no less.
It was back in May this year that we told you about Fiat planning to bring the brute force of the Abarth in the Punto Evo and the Avventura and well, there has been a lot of anticipation surrounding the launch of the cars. With the festive season right around the corner, Fiat is setting its eyes straight for the top spot in the Indian automobiles market.
Abarth Punto specifications were leaked a couple of days ago, the hatch sprints from 0-100 kmph in 8.8 seconds.
The new Fiat Abarth Punto Evo will come with a 1.4-litre T-jet petrol engine churning out maximum power output of 145bhp and maximum torque of 212Nm, mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Speaking about the design, Abarth Avventura production variant is expected to be different from the one-off variant seen in the images here. It will also receive the rear mounted spare wheel, which is missing in the rally version of Abarth Avventura. The report also claimed that the vehicle will return a healthy 16.3 kmpl. The ground clearance of the auto is 155 mm.
On the inside, the auto gets a black dashboard, tweaked instrument cluster, a steering wheel with an Abarth badge, black seats with red and yellow stitching and aluminium sports pedals. Other important features include standard dual airbags, ABS-EBD and disc brakes on all four wheels.
