Fidel Castro’s ashes begin 4-day journey across Cuba

Hundreds of Cuban exiles in Miami rallied Wednesday for freedom and democracy on the communist island following the death of revolutionary leader Fidel Castro.

Pastor Ed Stetzer expressed his disappointment that Obama offered condolences to the Castro family but not the families of the Cuban leader’s victims.

Castro passed away on Friday in the Cuban capital of Havana at the age of 90. He was our leader and the leader of all revolutionaries.

Raul is not only Fidel’s brother, he was there when the revolution overthrew a USA -friendly government, Wilkes University Political Science Associate Professor Andrew Miller noted.

“And the wonderful thing in my mind, Jules, (you say to put it it in context, noh?) is that all this has been done while Cuba has suffered form an illegal and genocidal blockade from the mightiest country ever”.

Mr Castro stepped down in 2006 after ruling Cuba for 47 years.

While Castro was admired by many, especially in Latin America and Africa for challenging Washington’s dominance, others vilified him as a dictator who ruined the economy with his brand of socialism and denied Cubans basic human rights.

Many observers will be watching for the interaction between Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and Raul Castro. “He fulfilled his mission on this earth. He has left unconquered”.

Mr. Mugabe, a former Marxist guerrilla himself, praised Castro’s government for training thousands of Zimbabwean doctors and teachers.

Now that Fidel Castro has died, the USA should treat Cuba the same way we treat China, another one-party state.

The Cuba-U.S. relationship will be normalized in the end, as Castro’s death will not change too much Cuba’s policy toward the United States and it is unrealistic for Trump to reverse the Obama administration’s policy on Cuba, said Carlos Eduardo, a history professor at the University of Brasilia.

China sent Vice President Li Yuanchao, while Chinese President Xi Jinping will pay his respects at the Cuban embassy in Beijing.

Trump’s sentiments about diplomatic relations with Cuba are reminiscent of his character as the dealmaker portrayed in his autobiography, The Art of The Deal. A range of worldwide leaders have tried to exploit that advantage throughout the years with growing political and commercial ties between Russia, China, and European and Latin American countries.

Andree-Lyne Halle, a spokeswoman for the prime minister, said Monday that Trudeau’s schedule does not permit him to attend Castro’s funeral.

Thousands of Cubans lined the streets of Havana Wednesday morning, some sleeping on sidewalks overnight, to bid goodbye to Fidel Castro as his ashes began a four-day journey across the country he ruled for almost 50 years.
